With the first few cases of the Corona Virus originating in China as early as 2019, it was on the 12th of January 2020 that China first publically shared a genetic sequence of COVID-19 to the world. A few months later on March 11, 2020, the WHO (World Health Organization) declared the virus to be a global pandemic after the disease had hit over 110 countries worldwide. To put the matter in perspective, the world has been in a state of lockdown since March 2020, as the entire planet has halted everyday life in an attempt to battle the virus.
IS IT REALLY A BIG DEAL?
The first major country to be drastically affected was Italy, with over 20000 confirmed COVID-19 cases and over 34000 unfortunate deaths. It was the aftermath of the Italian demise that the world started treating this virus as a major threat to life how we know it. Italy was followed by other major countries such as England and France who were also severely damaged by the virus, but no country was as badly hurt as the United States of America. With 2.14 Million confirmed cases and over 17000 preventable deaths, the USA is still failing to flatten the curve of infected patients.
The world has never before seen a lockdown this severe, with almost all flights banned, sporting events canceled, normal routine paused and the luxury of leaving their homes at freewill stripped off from the people, the world seems like at a state of war. But even both the World Wars failed the enforce a lockdown as global as the Corona Virus has entailed.

SAFETY GUIDELINES:
As of yet, there is no known cure for the disease known as Covid-19. Scientists have been working tirelessly to lessen, if not eradicate, the effects of the virus. The WHO has advised people to sanitize daily, wash their hands and mouth thoroughly, equip themselves with facemasks and apply social distancing measures between peers to prevent any chance of transmission of the disease. Avoiding public gatherings and unnecessary physical contact has been highly recommended by health experts. Many humans across the globe have confined themselves to their homes in an attempt to quarantine themselves.
RECOVERY PHASE:
As of June 2020, many countries have been slowly yet surely recovering from the pandemic, as the situation gets better in many parts of the world. Most notably, New Zealand health officials have confirmed that they have completely rid themselves of the virus, and are moving towards the next chapter in their nation’s history. New Zealand has achieved this victory through constant monitoring of corona patients, as well as completely obliging to the rules of the lockdown enforced within their country. As flights are on the verge of resuming, and sporting events are being rescheduled behind closed doors, the world is entering a new era. A historic post-COVID-19 era, which will be engraved within the history books, of how health officials, politicians, police officers, and the entire world joined forces to shine a bright light in this dark time.
